Brief history: The Office of Pre-Professional Programs and Advising serves undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni of the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering pursuing professional education in medicine, other health professions, law, and business. Pre-Professional Advisors provide academic advising, professional school application advising, and career counseling.

Career Advising Records Files created during the process of advising and preparing recommendation packets for students applying to law or medical schools. Typical contents include transcripts, resumes, questionnaires, dean’s reports, writing samples, Law School Recommendation Committee or Health Professions Committee reports, letters of recommendation and evaluations, waviers, AMCAS reports and comment/visit logs . 10 years following the student's date of last attendance (graduation, dismissal, withdrawal, death or unknown absence).
